After a series of child actors, Joshua Morrow took over the role of Nicholas Newman on The Young & The Restless on June 21, 1994. With his 30th anniversary coming up, the soap is planning a very special flashback-filled episode to celebrate… and it is scheduled to air on his actual anniversary, Friday, June 21!

“Just the fact that they would be willing to do something like that made me feel very proud,” Morrow admitted in the new issue of TV Guide. “It hits you what an incredible ride this has been. I feel like I’m not worth it, like I’m going to wake up and this has all been a dream.”

Nick was born on-screen back in December 1988, and the kid grew up very quickly in 1994 when Victor and Nikki’s son returned from boarding school as a teen now played by Morrow. And as a young actor, he was keenly aware of how lucky he was to be working with TV parents Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott.

“It’s almost unfair,” he confided. “They’re literally icons. They’re like family to me and I love and respect them so much. I really did fall into the best situation imaginable for a young actor.”

Just two years after his daytime debut, Morrow found himself nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in 1996, an honor he continued to receive every consecutive year through 2000. But to hear him tell it, he’s just grateful to have had a career at all!

“If you would have told me when I was a sophomore in high school in Oklahoma just playing football, ‘You will have a had a 30-year career on a television show,’ I would have thought you were joking,” Morrow marveled. “It’s an incredible accomplishment and one I never take for granted.”

So mark your calendars for June 21, because this is going to be an episode of Y&R to remember!
