The romance between pop star Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has captivated the world — but the city will host a new love story this summer featuring The Young & The Restless alum Hunter King (ex-Summer)! For her next Hallmark Channel movie, the two-time Daytime Emmy winner is set to star opposite one of the network’s popular leading men, Tyler Hynes, in the Christmas movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.

The all-new original movie is a collaboration between two renowned Kansas City institutions — Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs — as well as a partnership with the NFL. Filming is scheduled to take place July 6-27 at multiple locations throughout the Missouri city, including the Chiefs’ home base, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

“I’m bursting with excitement!” King gushed of the project, which will air as part of the network’s famed Countdown To Christmas programming event.

In Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story, King plays Alana Higman, a KC superfan who is confident her family’s long history as members of the Chiefs Kingdom — led by her grandfather, Ed Begley, Jr. — makes them a shoo-in to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. As the director of fan engagement, Hynes’ character, Derrick, is the Chiefs staffer responsible for determining how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spend time together, a spark grows between them. But when her grandpa’s vintage good-luck Chiefs hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she’s believed about fate and destiny — and even questions her future with Derrick. Will a little Christmas magic throw a “Hail Mary” on their blossoming relationship?

“With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” said Darren Abbott, chief brand officer at Hallmark. “By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”

“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan said. “This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”
