Just a few days after General Hospital issued a very serious statement in defense of star Tabyana Ali (Trina) — who has been the victim of hateful posts on social media — Eric Braeden (Victor, The Young & The Restless) stepped in to defend his colleagues when racist comments were made about them!

On the social media platform Twitter/X, one particular soap fan had been spreading not-so-nice messages about Ali over the past several weeks. While she’s now been blocked by the official GH account for her behavior, she also has gone after actors on the other daytime shows. In late May, she made a post using offensive racist language claiming that Christel Khalil (Lily), Sean Dominic (Nate), and Bryton James (Devon) were “destroying” Y&R.

On June 20, actress and soap superfan Yvette Nicole Brown brought the hurtful tweet to the attention of Y&R (on which she guest-starred back in 2016 as a reporter). “Dear Y&R, have you seen this tweet… ?” Brown wrote. “She was blocked by the GH site for this same level of racism.”

That’s when Braeden got involved, replying to Brown’s post in defense of his co-stars and ripping into the racist troll. “These three actors are dear colleagues of mine; they have more class than you low life can imagine!” the daytime legend angrily tweeted in response. “We are going to block your racist a–, you got that, b—h??!!”

The mic-drop post led to “Victor Newman” being a trending topic on Twitter/X, as many users commended the Daytime Emmy winner for speaking out against the bigotry in the post. “Victor Newman is 83 years old and the way he put that lady in her place for disrespecting the people of color on Y&R should be in the history books,” shared one.

“Thank you for continually standing up for what’s right and showing your integrity and character,” wrote another fan. “Sir, this is why you are the king of daytime,” commented another.
