It takes a big person to admit they’ve made a mistake and apologize, and that’s exactly what General Hospital alum Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan) did during an Instagram Live on June 19. It was a short one, but one that he felt he needed to do in order to address some misinformation he spread the last time he chatted with his fans.

“I have to rectify something,” he declared. “The last time I did a Live, we were talking about films that were being rerun and I said that I didn’t earn residuals on those. I’ve since been educated by my team and by my union. So I have to tell you guys that was my mistake. We do earn residuals.”

Paevey was informed that due to the nature of his contract, he actually does earn residuals when his movies air again, however, he didn’t see any because he had already received them in advance.

“The nature of my employment was unique because we are contract,” the actor explained. “And that’s kind of a unique thing in the industry. I didn’t not understand the way that these things were broken down, the way we earn residuals. When you are in a contract, there is a significant percentage of it that counts as an advance against residuals when films are rerun. And I did not understand this structure. So what I said was inaccurate. So that was my mistake.”

Paevey became a fan-favorite playing Detective Nathan West on GH from 2013 through 2018. After doing some movies for the Hallmark Channel, the actor signed a contract with them in 2022 to appear in additional films on the network including Two Tickets to Paradise, A Fabled Holiday, Fourth Down and Love, and Under the Christmas Sky.

Unfortunately for his fans, Paevey announced in April 2024 that he had no new projects lined up with Hallmark and was actually considering taking a break from Hollywood for a time. So keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for future updates on his career because as soon as anything changes, we’ll be sure to let you know!
