After over two decades together, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) and his wife, Vanessa, are splitting up. The actor made the announcement with an Instagram post that contained his statement as well as three photos of them together.

“After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways,” the statement read. “We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together. Our children have been and will continue to be our highest priority, and we will forever share in our devotion and love for them.

“We remain friends,” it continued, “and both wish the best for one another. We sincerely appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy during this transition.”

The couple were married back in July 2002, while Mathison was still playing Ryan on All My Children. They have two children together, 21-year-old Lucas, and 18-year-old Leila. The proud papa recently shared some vacation pics of him and his kids as he prepared to become “an official empty nester.”

Our thoughts are with the entire Mathison family during this difficult time.
